Freezing distilled water

freezing distilled water You could use regular tap water to make perfectly fine ice cubes. However, ice cubesfrom distilled water look amazingly clear due to their purity.

Because distilled water is just water without sediment, it freezes at the same temperature: 0 degrees C. The amount of time it takes for the water to freeze depends on the temperature of the freezer, temperature of the water and amount of water in the container. For example, warmer water takes longer to reach the proper temperature than cooled water. It is also important not to overfill the tray – the water expands as it freezes so it needs room for this. And of course, make sure the tray is placed level in the freezer so as to prevent spillage.

Distilled water loses the sediment of ordinary tap water so makes beautiful clear ice cubes but we do not recommend drinking distilled water without consulting a medical professional.
