Spring Clean with Distilled Water

As the weather (in theory) gets warmer, and the spring cleaning season begins, people all across the UK are getting ready to give their home a good old scrub down, get rid of unwanted clothes and other bric-a-brac that has been hoarded over the last twelve months, and give themselves and their family a fresh start. For those with young children, however, using cleaning products that contain potentially harmful chemicals- not only to the environment but to small, wandering hands-can be a worry. In an age where more and more people are conscious of the impact of their actions of the environment and little ones running around their home, as well as a time when saving money is on everyone’s mind, making your own cleaning products can be a great solution and may be easier than you might imagine.

For cleaning kitchen surfaces, a mixture of vinegar and distilled water leaves worktops shining and smelling great- and you know exactly what is in it. For a great citrus scent, experiment with grinding up orange and lemon peel and adding to distilled water, to leave your home full the joys of spring.
