Students get Distilled Water on Tap

Students studying in Sioux City, Iowa, had a real treat awaiting them when they returned from their Christmas break…in the form of ten new purpose-built science classrooms, designed to make lessons more interesting, interactive, and to encourage the students to be more enthusiastic about the subject.

North High School had a complete two-floor makeover, in a bid to rejuvenate the science teaching methods and old equipment that had been school property since 1972. Not only are there now more storage spaces for keeping flasks, test tubes and other essentials, but students also have more room to move and carry out experiments that are taking place during lesson time. The specialist equipment with which each classroom is now equipped includes wireless internet to encourage pro-active research, more electrical outlets, and even faucets that dispense distilled water. Teacher and pupils alike are delighted with the make-over, deeming it “very useful”.
