Water in Norman is Safe to Drink

EWG say consume everything in moderationA recent article published by the Environmental Working Group, stating the city of Norman has unusually levels of chromium 6 in its drinking water supply, the highest across the whole of the United States has stirred up concerns that the EWG are keen to dispel. Even though the chemical compound is a known carcinogen, the report specifically states that the high level in Norman City’s water is unlikely to pose health problems for residents. Once inside the human body, chromium 6 is converted into chromium 3, a substance commonly found in many foodstuffs such as bread, milk and vegetables, and contributes to the body’s sustaining of insulin metabolism.
The report then goes on to stress that toxicity from consuming any liquid depends on the dosage, and that any substance-including distilled water-is potentially toxic when consumed in large quantities. Any person wanting to do so should seek professional medical advice before commencing.
If you have any queries or concerns about the water you’re drinking, we recommend getting in touch with your local health authority and council, who will be able to provide you with advice accordingly. Or, for more information about our distilled water products and service, please do get in touch, and we’ll be hand to answer your questions.
